One of the two climbs that decide Milan–San Remo, ridden repeatedly across at least three separate trips.
Cipressa sits above the coast between San Lorenzo al Mare and San Remo — a name that means something specific in cycling: it's one of the two climbs (the other is the Poggio) that Milan–San Remo, one of cycling's oldest one-day professional races, has to get over before the finish. This isn't a route pulled from a database; it turned up as a genuine repeat in the ride history, confirmed by a photo of the village's own cycling-route sign.
This one didn't come from a named Strava ride — the GPS tracks showed a real, repeated climbing route about 11–12km inland from the coast, ridden across 2018 and 2022, but nothing in the ride titles said where. A geo-matched photo from the same dates and location settled it: a road sign reading "CIPRESSA" with a cycling-route marker underneath.
Kevin confirms it's the same road up every time — the actual Milan–San Remo climb, not a variant way up to the same village — and the Strava ride dates line up with the photo dates above, so this page can be trusted as one consistent route across all four visits (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).
