Italy · Lake Maggiore to the Ligurian Coast
Two lake towns on the Swiss border, and a cluster of real climbs along the Ligurian coast near Imperia.
Italy on this site splits into two real clusters: the lakes — Cannobio on Lake Maggiore and Lavena Ponte Tresa on Lake Lugano, both literally on the Swiss border — and the Ligurian coast around Imperia, where three separate pages cover real local climbs, one of them (Cipressa) confirmed as an actual Milan–San Remo race climb by a road sign in Kevin's own photos.
The Stelvio Pass itself — the summit, not the other three passes ridden the same day — is also technically on Italian soil, on the Lombardy/South Tyrol border. That whole day is written up on the Switzerland & Alps pillar instead, since the other three passes ridden that day are Swiss.
Right on the Swiss border at the top of the lake — eight years of climbs into the Cannobino Valley.
