France · Alps to the Var Coast
The smallest of the three pillars so far — one big Alpine day from 2012, and a week on the Côte d'Azur in 2011.
France is the thinnest pillar on the site right now, honestly — two dedicated locations against Switzerland's five and Italy's five. What's here is real: a genuinely big 2012 Alps day (Le Bourg-d'Oisans and the Cormet de Roseland, 2,436m of climbing) and a full week of Provence rides from 2011 around Ramatuelle and Bormes-les-Mimosas, all with real GPS tracks even where no photos have turned up yet.
Kevin's Strava history has more French rides than this — the "Riviera" cluster tracked early in this project turned out to be Italian Liguria, not France, once the coordinates were actually checked. If more genuine French rides surface, this pillar grows; nothing's being padded out to look bigger than it is.
There's a third entry below, though: Goumois straddles the Swiss–French border itself, and several of the rides there genuinely cross into France — the La Goule climb is the border crossing, and the Out and Back Three route continues on into France for a steep 3km climb back. The full write-up lives on the Switzerland & Alps pillar, since the village and most of the plateau riding sit on the Swiss side, but it belongs here too.
Le Bourg-d'Oisans and the Cormet de Roseland — a proper 2,436m Alpine day from 2012.

5 ridesThe village straddles the border, and the riding actually crosses it — La Goule is the crossing point.
