90km that felt like 90 miles — into a headwind the whole way.

Ridden 11 April 2016, the day the motorhome went into Preston: "Probably the worst day I could have chosen to take my motorhome into Preston. Wind really bad and totally against me for the whole of the journey. 90kms felt more like 90 miles. Totally knackered at the end of it." He puts the speed in context: "Look at my average speed and considering I normally average around 29kms an hour shows the weather conditions."

Route data (from Strava): 87.9km, 1,261m of climbing — the biggest climbing day in the English archive after the 2013 rides.
