The phone fell out on the training loop — and a backup recording told him exactly where.

Ridden 11 May 2023, and logged in full: "Lost my mobile today whilst riding my training route. Sadly I did not see it fall as I was enjoying the weather and the views."

The save came from the backup: "Fortunately I was recording on wahoo and fitbit as a backup, and thankgod wahoo told me exactly where the mobile had stopped recording." He'd already ridden the same route twice looking for it, then went back later, searched the area and found the phone. "A very lucky day for me today, and great weather to boot."

Route data (from Strava): 80.6km, 486m of climbing — the longest of the home-area rides built so far, because it includes the two earlier passes along the same route looking for the phone. The log also credits 3.01 new kilometres on Wandrer.earth.

📝 Kevin — needs your input

  • Where was the phone found — roughly which stretch of the loop?
  • Which of the two backups (Wahoo or Fitbit) gave the location in the end?
